Just looking at the headline in this weeks Lyme News and 'Snow Rage', which to me, sounds more than a bit sensationalist, and while I agree that for motorists, conditions were really bad, the rest of us have had a really good time in the snow.
So c'mon killjoys, how often does this happen? Generally only a few days during the dead of Winter, and even then, we only had a couple of inches when the rest of the nation was completely snowbound. Occurring as it did at a time when most people are already on holiday, it only leaves one option, leave the car home, and get out there and build a snowman!
The truth of it is that Lyme looked quite magical, and though I know that Lyme is magical all year round, there is something special about this crystalline whiteness covering our favourite areas and landmarks, and the silence that comes with snow, when there is no traffic on the roads, is almost awesome.
Just a reminder here: Christmas is a Festival of Children, and the kids loved it!
Here are some of our pics of Lyme in the snow, including the suicidal snowman on the beach! (Our condolences to Frosty, whoever you may be!)
A link to our Christmastime in Lyme video, filmed on the 18th December after the first snowfall.
