The Time and the Season

There is no better time to be in Lyme Regis than this time of year, the holiday season is about to commence, the buzz of expectancy is in the air, and overnight, this small town on the edge of everywhere will transform. Seems even better than ever this year, the new seafront and beaches looking pristine adding even more attraction than ever.
I always feel that the Jazz Festival starts the season, right in the middle of June, the bands arrive, and the dancers move in behind them, the parade begins, New Orleans style, and the decorated brollies lead the way down Broad Street, and thereafter, its three continuous days of brilliant music played and performed by the best of exponents. Trumpets and trombones exude magic from every corner, and LymeRegisRadio will be out and about, hopefully recording some great live music to add to our already vast archive.
But this year it all seems to be starting a week early with the prodigiously titled 'Relief of the Seige of Lyme Re-Enactment', an all day event on this Saturday 16th June, a whole day of guns and drums and marching, and we will be bringing it all to you in full living stereo.
Not only that, but our vey active Carnival & Regatta folks are putting on a free concert in Langmoor Gardens, a Picnic in the Park starting at 6.30 with great entertainment provided by the talented musicians and performers of Lyme Regis.
All we need now is a cloudless sky, and a lot of sunshine........
